Yard Sale Finally Pays Off for Scottie and Friends

Here’s me finding out that green bananas still on the tree are not very yummy.

Hey, Stuffie Friends! Some of you might remember that we did most of the work for a yard sale this fall and never got paid. Well, okay, we got paid in treats, but that is NOT the same. We’ve been negotiating with support from the Stuffie Labor Union & we finally got paid. Hooray for us! We can’t promise you’ll be as successful if you ever find yourself in similar circumstances, but we got an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii!!!

We had a wonderful time on a few different boat rides. Boy, you can see forever across this water. Definitely not like our lake at home!

Someone was kind enough to set up a game for us on the beach. We had a great time with it. Not sure how you’re supposed to play, but we pretended they were checkers. It was Amelia vs. everyone else. I won’t tell you who won.

Okay, I was just embarrassed. She beat the pants off of us!

Here’s the view from our beach checkers game. Not to shabby for a group of small friends, hey?

Everywhere we looked on the island there were huge trees, lots of plants, lots of flowers, gazillions of insects, and many things to see. You’ll be glad to hear there were many new bird friends for the Amelias, Wol, Flicker, and Loonie to hang out with. They disappeared into the jungle a few times & I got worried.

Speaking of plants, can you believe the things people can build out of only natural materials? We did some studying to figure out if this is something we could make at home. Imagine this lakeside- we’d be happy to relax in this with some lemonades in hand…

We weren’t sure what was going on with this structure. We thought it was a tent, but we were concerned how close the fire was to the wooden poles. We’ll have to ask around on this one.

Time for a dip- the water is fine! So, so, warm. And a delightful change from back home. (We won’t tell you what number it was below zero, but there was more than one digit involved.)

We just managed to sneak in a round of golf before the sunset. That put us at a wonderful spot to enjoy the colors over the ocean. What a beautiful day on the island. Can’t wait for another one tomorrow! It might be a bit before we report back to you. We expect to be busy adventuring.
