Good Times & Good Snacks at the Movies
Hey, everyone! Terrific news from your favorite bear, Yeti! Thanks to the efforts of some our fine Stuffie lovers out there, my cousin Brrr got released from the gift shop and came out to visit! Hooray! (Can’t wait to see more of my family soon… ) We decided to go out to celebrate on the town. First stop- the art gallery. There are lots of them around here, but we were especially interested in the guinea pig art exhibit.
While we were there, we were invited to a painting class. I think it’s pretty good for Brrr’s first time out! Abstract art is great, because you can see whatever you want in the picture. I’m pretty sure it’s the two of us headed on a rocket ship to Outer Space. Blast off!
When we asked around, people in town said there was a terrific movie showing at the Bijou called Cyrano. It’s about a witty, intelligent, funny writer who’s sees the world a little differently. ( Just my kind of hero! I knew I’d learn some things to help me become more famous & rich.) We decided to take ourselves to the movies. I was going for research, but my friends were going for the fun of it.
What a wonderful plan! We tried to sweet-talk our way into the theater, but Keith said we needed to pay for our tickets. I guess that’s fair- I expect to get paid for my hard work, too. (Ahem….Katie!)
Luckily for us, I am a very resourceful bear and can always find a way. Sometimes it just takes a little investigation and finding the right opportunity. And a cousin willing to give a boost.
Problem solved! Snacks for all! Froggy had a hard time deciding from all the delicious goodies available.
Jicama and Fajita, on the other hand, knew where the good stuff (popcorn) was. You could smell its delicousness from a mile off. And, if you’re going to get candy & popcorn, a drink is a “must”.
“What goes around, comes around”- as they say. We decided to give some extra cash for the extra cushy seats. All the extra money goes to charity. And then you can kick back and have a relaxing time watching the show. (True story- Jicama fell asleep, she was so comfortable.)
We loved the movie, most especially the music. We can’t wait to go back soon. It sounds like they’re showing the Oscar Shorts next time. Perfect for a bunch of little friends! (We’ll probably check out the Animated movies.) So long for now!
P.S.- Apparently, the jar full of cold, hard cash on the counter isn’t just free money. Katie told me that it’s a donation jar for this independent theater so they can keep showing amazing movies. She was really upset and used the “s” word (“stealing”). Oops! Luckily, she had enough money to cover our tickets. We had to apologize to Betsy & Keith. (Sorry, again.) And we have to sweep up popcorn after the movies for awhile. Works for us- free snacks!
