Workout Wipes Out Stuffies

Last week was really warm here so most of the snow melted. Our landlord has been watching his favorite baseball team, the Minnesota Twins, on the computer. It looks really interesting, so we went over to the ball field at Legion Park to check it out. Looks like they put up a new scoreboard. We feel with having three birds as our starting outfield, we’ll do great this season. Our bird friends can easily catch any fly balls. And, of course, Scottie is so talented so he can play the infield or be the catcher. We need to recruit 5 more players as the game requires 9 players. If you or any of your friends are interested, let us know!

We need to be in shape for all kinds of things. Baseball, track, all those other outdoor sports, our airline trips…. Luckily our landlord is really nice and we talked him into taking us to the gym. Boy, do they have a lot of equipment! We even got a chance to do a quick pick up game of soccer. Not sure why they have a soccer (football) lying around, but it was lucky for us!

We found this bouncy shuttle machine . It’s designed to strengthen our leg muscles. WHEEEE! Man, was it fun. Maybe we should convince our landlord to video-tape us sometime. We are getting pretty good at these gym things.

Next we moved to the stair stepper. It helps our legs and cardio. We each did about 20 minutes and were pooped! That’s a lot of exercise for friends with small legs. Some of the birds may have done some flying breaks, but we’ll never tell.

Our landlord was not going to go easy so next we hit the treadmill - again for 20 minutes! At least we could look outside or watch the TV ( not shown) so the time went fast.

We all tried to make a mad dash for the door but we were caught for one final exercise… This last machine is very weird as it is called an ellipse. Basically, it lets you spin from side to side (almost like dancing). Scottie was really good at this one- probably because he is always on the ground and runs up trees. We all had fun, but our friend the owl got a little seasick. Guess you shouldn’t try to turn your head 180 degrees one way while spinning the other… Lesson learned!

We thought it was time to head home and put our feet up and relax at last. But, the fun wasn’t over yet. We got to see the track where Scottie and Amelia competed in the 2020 Games. We were hoped to get a few laps in but there were still piles of snow all over the track. It’s an all-weather track, so when the snow is gone, we’ll be there! Of course, we’ll wait for the temperature to get above 50 degrees, since we’re all fair weather athletes. We are exhausted and can’t wait to get home to those cushy pillows and warm blankets. Until next time!
