Stuffies Take on Power Tools?

Greetings, Stuffie Fans! It’s Scottie and Team, here to report more construction successes. After our recent discovery that building projects can be done with candy, we persuaded our landlords to make the absolutely necessary stop in the Cities. Pretty exciting times! They were using a pneumatic nailer to put the trim in place. Those things are seriously fun!

Unfortunately, we didn’t pass the safety test. We were relegated to sanding the drywall spackle.

In case you were wondering, no. Sanding spackle is not as fun as holding a giant, vibrating piece of machinery with a spring coiled power cord that makes a satisfying “k-thunk” sound every time you put a nail in place. Spackling is drudgery. We hung in there in the hopes of good treats for payment.

No gingerbread house candy smorgasbord today. They said we’d have to be satisfied with getting paid peanuts. (Actual peanuts, not the word they use to describe very minimal pay that’s barely worth accepting.) Next stop? Ohio, where there are always delicious things being cooked and baked. We were not disappointed. We arrived in the kitchen just in time!

We made ourselves useful conduction quality control checks of the cranberries and oranges. We were just getting into the swing of things when it was suggested we find somewhere else to help. (What, exactly, were they implying?) Just as we were discussing if we should feel insulted, a noise caught our attention. We quickly headed downstairs to investigate.

At first, we were very confused. Why were all these round pieces of wood in a box? We learned that this was a special Christmas creche that Katie made a long time ago as a gift. Dan was struggling to figure out what was going on with these randomly cut pieces. Don’t worry! We soon sorted him out.

Once that was fixed, it made a lot more sense. Dan said he was ready for a coffee break. We told him we’d just hang out and wait for him to come back. But, in actual fact, we decided to step up and help with the drill, screws and screw driver. We did a pretty good job, don’t you think?

Thankfully, Dan finished the project by spray painting the new and old wood with stain. He put some felt on the bottom and top to cover the screws and protect the table where it’s displayed.

Good thing we were invited along so the project could be done for the holidays! Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to collect some pie and salty snacks for our reward. Your local construction company signing off:
