A Big Building Project... and a Very Small One

Stuffie friends! Hello from Scottie and friends in MN!
We had a get away weekend that took us off the campaign trail for Yeti. There were many building projects requiring our expertise. As you can see, we had a great place to closely supervise the work. We basically were a step above the competition!

The first stop was this garage improvement project. They’re working on an exercise room/ teen hangout spot. Apparently teenagers are pretty rowdy and the more distance from the house, the better. Our job was to help properly install drywall. Scottie was a big help with cutting the final pieces of insulation for around the outlets.

Drywall takes a lot of measuring and cutting so we were right on top of the action to make sure it was done right. Only one mis-meaurement occurred. We’d like to state for the record it was not on our watch.

We were in the other room ensuring the drywall was screwed correctly to the wall.

We were pleased with how quickly this big project was coming together. It was while we were admiring the finished drywall that we realized both the kids had disappeared. Where did we discover them? Everyone else was busy making delicious buildings out of cookies and candy! How come no one told us this was an option? We immediately abandoned the garage project in favor of this ginger bread village. It’s going to become part of a special Norwegian celebration in December at the Norway House. Doing the project is a family tradition started by Caroline. We will definitely check that out during the holidays.

Everyone was so busy and seemed to know what they were doing. Since they didn’t need a lot of construction help, we decided to focus on “utilizing all the building materials so nothing goes to waste” (aka- eating as many candies as we could get away with). To our surprise, when we were caught, they were thrilled. They were glad to see us paid for all our hard work in the garage. And, they said there was plenty of leftover Halloween candy to go around.

We can’t take any credit it for this finished result, but we take our hats off to everyone.

Can’t wait to see all the other ones people made. And, if we’re lucky, they’ll be handing out leftover candy and cookies. Hope to see you there!
