Some Flaws in Yeti's Plans
Greetings, all you Stuffie Fans & Yeti supporters! Sorry for the delay in hearing from S’mores and I about my campaign. You’re about to find out why it’s been so long.
We recently met with some prospective subjects young people to share more about my campaign. I have to be honest here, they started out pretty skeptical and a little aggressive. And, it’s okay to be sure you know more than other people. In this case, they had some relevant concerns about my quest to become Ruler of the Universe. First question posed, “Who said you could be in charge?” Well, that’s why you run a campaign. Turns out, people love me. Thanks, all!
Next problem: “If you’re going to be in charge of the Universe, you shouldn’t live on Earth. It’s complicated, but basically you’d be really far away from most everyone.” Okay, so outer space it is! (Soon to be inner space, because it will be our new backyard. You’ll be in our outer space.)
Question two: “Where will you live? What kind of house is in space?” Hmm… We’ll have to look into that.
Okay, so we’ve read up on engineering principles and think we have a rocket ship that will hold all the building materials. Perfect! What else you got, kids?
Next next problem: “You haven’t gone to school. You don’t know how to build anything. Especially a house.” Okay, no problem. There are all kinds of books. Here we go!
That was followed by, "You know, there’s no gravity in space. You’ll probably end up really flat, like a pancake. Or you could float off into nothing and never come back. And you won’t be able to breathe.” (Yikes. These kids are not sugar-coating it!) Okay, here’s what we’ll do. We’ll just make sure everything we construct is connected to each other and to us. If we want to drive around our new space neighborhood, we’ll need a certain kind of vehicle.
It would be even better if it doubles as a space suit/house. It will have all the oxygen and pro-gravity stuff built in. That way, I can go anywhere I need to and have everything with me all the time.
Yep. That’s the right idea. Some adjustments need to be made, but I think we’re on to something.
Then, S’mores brought up that we could get a little fancier with our designs. I mean, we’re not paying for any of this...
Now we’re talking! Question is, how much room is there to spread out?
That’ll work. Pretty cozy. And, best of all, this house has a slide for exiting. Whee!
As always, we welcome feedback and questions. Thanks for giving us a chance to learn and solve these problems! And, as ever, your funding is appreciated!
