And Then Someone Gave the Stuffies Power Tools?

Greetings, Friends Filled with Fluff!

D. Bunny, Esquire here. I am a very old and wise stuffie. And, like many of our wise friends, I know that you have to keep exercising your muscles and your brains to keep yourself in shape. I saw my owner looking at the maps of her new backyard plan. It includes some benches that are going to be in a nice, sunny spot. But there’s a lot of work to be done between layout and actual bench. It was time to assemble a team to accelerate the realization of this dreamy nap location. I knew just the friends to help.

A special thanks to Flicker. When you’re operating a large piece of machinery, it helps to do some preparation. I didn’t want the drill to bounce around and put holes in the wrong places. Thank goodness we had a woodpecker on the team.

Perfectly round holes so the screws would be perfectly placed. Thanks for the great pre-drilling, Flicker!

Not to get too personal, but did you know that woodpecker tongues wrap around inside their skulls to protect their brains from all that banging? Disturbing… and also fascinating. Oh, the things you learn when you’ve been around a long time!

I’ll let my colleague Scottie take it from here. (After all, he was mostly directing the effort.)

Hey, Stuffie Friends!

First of all, a shout-out to D.Bunny, Esquire. That bunny sure knows how to run to a drill- admirable work, all around. Those long arms sure made a big difference! In the meantime, I was running the mitre saw. It was a challenge to get the boards all the same length. Lots of measuring and math involved. My landlord held onto the end of each board to keep them balanced. Don’t want any stuffie flinging here!

Time for a tree break! Nice to check out the view of the project and the back yard. And to take a break- our muscles were getting sore.

You might be surprised to see that our friends the owl and loon were involved. They claimed to be supervising from this tree. Maybe every project needs a supervisor, but probably not two. We think more hands makes the work go faster.

We still have to tackle the deck project, so maybe they can do some heavy lifting.

Look at this perfect bench! Plenty of room for all of us! We actually made two perfect benches, so there’s plenty of room for a neighborhood stuffie party.

Just need to add the fire pit (thankfully, it’s already assembled) .... and the deck. We should be done with this project very soon.

Scottie and D. Bunny Esq.
