Signs of Spring? They Must Be Kidding!
We decided to go on a mission to look for these “Signs of Spring” they’ve been talking about lately. First of all, we’d like to state that we’re very confused. Not to brag, but it’s been around 60 degrees and sunny around here for the last week or so. And yet, our Stuffie friends in CO and MN have reported snow in the not-too-distant past. We figured that an official Season on the calendar with a start date must also have some official signs. We’re not sure if the signs are made of metal, wood, wire, ice, or what. But we are really good at finding things and noticing things these humans look right past.
This was a great place to start looking. We thought surely there would be Signs of Spring in a place where there’s a tree growing new leaves AND some cars nearby. Cars seem to need signs to get anywhere. How else would they know where to go? Maybe the Signs were here, maybe they weren’t. All we know is that none were found today in this tree.
Then we had a terrible thought- maybe the SIgns of Spring were trapped in a cage?! Some of us have been there before. We won’t discuss the details (because I might be brewing another, better, more foolproof plan for getting rich)… Anyhow, we thought if they were imprisoned here on the Oregon Coast, it would explain why our friends out East have still been getting snowed on. No luck finding the Signs yet... Taco mentioned that lots of signs are made of metal, so we went in search of some of that.
Well, we got up pretty high on this climbing thing. Remember the good old days of the 2020 Games? Man, was RoaRRRy good at Gymnastics! Anyway, no Signs of Spring up here, either. Maybe the Signs of Spring are really camouflaged? It would make sense they’d be hiding out in greener spaces. We thought we’d check.
Bummer. Not here either. But Froggy sure would love this tree. What climbing fun can be had when it’s so soft & cushy… Jicama wanted to lie down and take a nap and do some cloud watching. We reminded her that we were on a mission & no time could be wasted. Guess these Signs are more elusive than we thought. We’ve checked houses, trees, parking lots, streams, and plants. We’ve looked for wood, metal, wire, and other signs. NO luck yet. We’ll keep looking. In the meantime, if you see the Signs near you, would you let us know? There are friends out there feeling impatient for the nice weather. Thanks so much!
