Learning Some Things Along the Way

Hello again! We’re home from our Southwest trip, but we still have some stories to share. This one’s about all the things we discovered on our trip. Some of them were thanks to our guide, Ranger Rita. She’s agreed to come back to Minnesota to live with us. There are lots of local parks and some National Parks, so she’s planning to do some visits and decide where she’ll apply for a job. We were talking to her about our hike in Zion, and she took us to this sign that explained all about them. Apparently, there are no giant ice cubes involved. What a disappointment!

We saw these pancake cacti and heard you can eat them. Pancakes growing in the desert? Yes, please!!!

Hmmm. That did not turn out the way we expected. OUCH! Those spines sure hurt! Especially when they’re on your…. well, you know…

When we found out there was a museum about the Mob, we had to check it out. You know, those guys knew a lot about heists and making money. We might learn something useful for Yeti & S’mores. If so, we know they’ll make it worth our while.

Then we found this cool collection of artwork. (Heads up, Yeti- it’s just sitting there, barely guarded!) And this dinosaur skull reminded us of our dragon friend Taco and Little Guys 1 & 2- hey, friends! Of course, this dino is way scarier than they are.

We’d had enough museums and decided to head back out to the trails. It was another beautiful day and another interesting hike. We need to take up some issues with the management, however.

I know! How dare they tell all those lovely people on the trail not to feed us? We’re just as cute as a little stuffed squirrel and loon can be! And we were super hungry. We were hiking just as far down the trail as our human friends but without the salty, crunchy, delicious rewards. Want to join our protest? Let us know, we’ll send you the petition to sign.

Who are they to tell us which way to go? We’re wild animals, we’ll go where we like! Signs, schmines.

Loonie here, writing on behalf of Scottie. He’s all covered up with Calamine lotion and wrapped in gauze in between ice baths. We’ll catch up with you later.

-Scottie and Loonie, signing off.
