Froggy's Triumphant Return
Hey, Stuffie Friends! Such exciting and amazing news from Colorado! I never could have imagined that I’d be able to head back to YMCA Camp Shady Brook, where I was first born. Here’s how it happened- I got adopted from the Trading Post by two wonderful and cute kiddos. They moved a few different times and took me with them (of course). And they ended up in Roseville, MN. By that time, our stuffie family had grown considerably. Yeti, Little Guy, Taco and everyone had launched this fantastic website. And I wanted to launch my career as a rock musician. So I moved to Oregon to hang out with them. Little did I know that Katie works with the staff at camp every summer. What a wonderful surprise!
How many Stuffies can fit in a mailbox? More than you see here, that’s for sure!
We had to go to the lake to check on all my frog friends. They’re happy as can be- lots of flies this time of year! It was disappointing that the waterslide wasn’t open. They have to train the lifeguards first. And no one believed me when I told them I was a terrific swimmer! Maybe it’s because of that saying “be careful of the company you keep?”
I had a really relaxing nap in the sunshine with a frog friend. He wouldn’t share his earbuds with me. Although, when I found out he was listening to elevator music, I lost all interest. Dings, whirrs, and sliding doors? Boring!
We found a party waiting for us in the dining hall and helped ourselves to some party hats. I know- we look stunning! There wasn’t a lot of food left, but we found some bits and pieces of delicious treats. Taco may or may not have made a trip to the health center after this photo was taken. Don’t worry- all is well now.
When Taco got back, he was mad a Fajita for the “accidental” hand-slapping-game squashing, so he used his flying powers and got revenge on them.
The camp staff talked to us about the values of “Respect” and “Caring” which are apparently a big deal around here. In the middle of the talk, Yeti suddenly rushed off and took control of the mic.
Yeti- announcing a request for staff to share any useful information about card games, casinos, and climbing equipment.
The staff were kind enough to lead us uphill to the challenge course shed, where Chris was doing some training. We investigated the gear and found some very useful equipment that will be perfect for our upcoming….
climbing trip. Yeah, that’s what we’re doing. We’ll share pictures of us when it happens.
Catch you later! -Froggy
