Fall Road Trip- WhoooHoo!
Stuffie Friends!
Scottie and Friends here, reporting to you live from the Midwest. We knew something was up when we started smelling a double batch of breakfast cookies. Thanks to Wol the Owl’s excellent hearing, we found out a road trip to North Carolina was imminent. When our landlords went in the other room, we made our move to nab some goodies. We tucked extras away for the road- we definitely don’t want to starve!
One of our first stops was Indianapolis to visit the former home of D. Bunny, Esquire. It’s also where Cubbins the Bear and many other famous Stuffies of old began their adventures. We begged to get into this historic home. Really, it should be a Stuffie Museum! Since it’s not, and actual human people we don’t know live there, Dan said we couldn’t go in. There was also some grumbling about the lack of trees, flowers, and shrubs that used to be here. Looked like some fun ones to climb and explore in the backyard, but, again, Dan said we couldn’t just go run & climb there because we don’t know them. Back to the car!
Dan was very happy to see all the “Hoosier” flags flying around town, especially this one in front of the Stroups’ house. Glad some things never change!
Our next stop was Worthington, OH. We really lucked out on Saturday, as it was farmers market day downtown. We found some really tasty fresh vegetables and persuaded the humans to buy some and let us have part of the feast. Yummy!
We found all these delicious items at one stand. Too bad they kept a close eye on these baked goods so we couldn’t sneak any into our bag (or our tummies.) Boo!
We saw a few things at the market that were really confusing. For example, these flowers.
If you’re supposed to plant them- and it’s late September- aren’t they going to die? And, if you’re supposed to put them on your table, then why are they in these big planters? And why would you spend money on these flowers when you could spend money on…
(Sadly, the humans we were with refused to buy us any honey, either.)
We have to leave this post for now because it’s time to pick out our pumpkins. Look at these beauties! We know it’s not the variety of pumpkins some friends get to have, but it’s good enough for us! See you soon!
