Basketball Really Works up an Appetite
We had a beautiful day and some fun guests at the house, so we headed out to the court. We took on the Blondos and we were awesome! It helps that we can fly up and block a lot of shots! The only trouble happened when Scottie tried to dunk the ball. As a squirrel, he’s good at climbing. Jump shots- well, let’s just say he came up short and got a little trapped. Thankfully, Amelia was able to fly up and jiggle the net. She then caught Scottie on the way down- good thing, since there was concrete below!
We caught the big basketball game on video. We’re hoping to send it out to coaches so we can get recruited. Maybe it’s not too late to be part of the March Madness Tourneys?
All that exercise made us pretty hungry. When we got back into the house, our landlords were distracted. Scottie told us he could probably find some dessert. First, he and Flicker (working as a team) managed to get the refrigerator open. The Loon and the Owl stood guard. It’s important to have lookouts when you’re bending (okay, breaking) the house rules. Well, they didn’t find any dessert in the fridge. Which seems pretty weird, since Scottie swears he saw some chocolate pudding go in there the other day.
Thank goodness we weren’t completely out of luck. As the Owl was standing guard, he saw something on the counter…. Yes! Graham crackers and dark chocolate caramels. If only we had found some marshmallows, we would really have been in business.
Scottie and Flicker used their outstanding teamwork and skills to get some of the delicious treats for us. Also, it was lucky that Scottie got out of the caramel jar after almost getting stuck. We hate to think what would have happened if he was still there when the owners came back.
