A Kitchen Raid Yields Disappointing Results

Hey, friends! Do you ever suspect that these humans we live with have a TON of yummy, scrumptious, delicious food that they’re hiding from us? Yeah, me, too! Not sure what this sign says, but I know what it means: terrific snacks for just for cute stuffies.

They’re not going to get away with hiding all that great food on my watch! After our brownie-making success* I was emboldened (that means I’m super brave) to go back into the kitchen. This time I took a small crew & didn’t tell a certain lizard.

* Apparently, there were brownies to eat, but Little Guy 2 said they weren’t any good. Not sure I believe him, because you know what he’ll do to get at the chocolate. Lying isn’t beyond possibility…

SO, anyway… Back to my story. I gave my friends a boost and they got ahold of the door. You need to be high enough to reach the handle. It was surprisingly tricky to find on this one. Yours might be easier to see.

Next, you need to get into just the right position. This is a key strategy of getting into the fridge. You need to get your leverage right so your tiny body can open this HUGE door. Strong muscles help, but strong brains and a knowledge of Physics works even better. And magnetic paws never hurt.

I sure was right in picking these helpers. As you can see, we made the perfect team! Snitch pulied the front of the door and Twitch pushed super-duper hard. Together they got the door open. Amazing work, everybody!

Only look at the next picture if you don’t experience claustrophobia. For all those lovers of caving & spelunking, look on! As you can see, I’ve managed to squeeze my cute little body into the door of the fridge while my friends hold it open for me. In case you want to try this at home, this takes a lot of trust and a not-queasy-stomach.

Whew! It took a lot of work and perseverance to get this far, let me tell you. Imagine, if you will, how it feels to have been through ALL THAT and then see this….

Yep, you saw that right. A whole lot of fruit, vegetables, eggs, and homemade soup. Really, Katie?! The most junk-foody thing in here is the homemade yogurt. (We did find some wasabi that we’ll share with Taco. That should make for an exciting night!) But otherwise it was a bust. So, I got myself safely out of the fridge and we re-grouped. After a short talk, we decided that all the extra-special-desserts must be in the freezer along with the fries and pizza and what-not. We already got this far- so why not go the extra mile?

Well, you may not be able to see inside the freezer very well but I’ll just tell you- you’re not missing anything. Unless you count frozen vegetables and fruit as something, which we definitely do NOT. Some people might find a few sticks of butter intriguing, but not this crew. Katie, are you kidding us here?!? You have the worst pantry ever for a crowd of cute, hungry, resourceful friends.

I recommend you work on that A.S.A.P. (that means yesterday, if not before.) Better luck to you all out there. Let us know if you find anything good. DEFINITELY let us know if they have room for one cute and fiesty little bear at your house. I’ll be on the next trip outta here!

A P.S. from Snitch & Twitch:

We were so happy to help Yeti, yes we were! We’ve had a pretty exciting week around here. First the camping trip and now a kitchen adventure! We’re hoping to go to the beach sometime soon to check out that scene. Yeti said it’s pretty awesome! We can’t wait, no we can’t! We have to, though. So sad for us…
