Track and Field- MN edition
Stuffie friends!!!
We had a super day for several track events . Our home field here in Grand Rapids just got updated to an all-season field. That’s awesome- we’ll be able to come here even in the snow this winter!
The competition was tough today but we did great. Our first event was the long jump.
Amelia’s jump: 19’. Easy Peezy for me! All I had to do was run, spread my wings, and jump. The distance just flew by! It’s a new record! Hopefully they’ll post it at the stadium soon.
800m event . At the 400 split, Amelia was 50 meters behind. However, Scottie got distracted by a spectator (who may or may not have been eating peanuts at the time). Amelia just flew by to pull off the victory in 2:40.5. For a stuffie, that’s pretty good!
Wow, the track coach is testing us to pizza! We usually only get nuts and sunflower seeds. It was unexpected and a real treat. We decided on Gourmet Vegetarian - red sauce, artichokes, mushrooms ( on half since Amelia doesn’t like) spinach , tomatoes, 4 cheeses, onions) on thin crust . It was yummy! Not a crumb left for the chipmunks or other birds. That’s okay, we definitely earned this one.
Scottie’s jump: 16’ 10”. Pretty good, as I only had two days of training for this one. Glad I stuck the landing. On some of my practice ones, I wasn’t so lucky. (My head still hurts a little…)
100m dash - Scottie stayed focused this time and whizzed by on the last stretch. 11.6 seconds- a pretty darn good time!
