Stuffies Rock! (Rock Climbing Round 1)
Wow, is this impressive! Wait till you see Rocky climb. So fast and agile. Rocky just doesn’t quit!
What a great day for rock climbing in Minnesota. Sun was bright, calm winds and cool! We first thought we’d climb an iron ore pilings mountain but weren’t allowed on the property. We then found a super place down by the river. Plenty of challenges as there were two different formations testing our limited mountain climbing skills. Scottie definitely had the advantage with the clawed toes versus Amelia’s webbed feet. We both had a great attitude, that went a long way in making it to the top, well almost of both formations. It was fun for both of us and a super nice day … so who can complain?
Amelia thinking through how to maneuver this strange formation. Thankfully, some of these protruded out far enough to allow me to balance and then use the rocks as steps going diagonally. I sure was proud just to make it to the top! Only took me 34.5 seconds!
This sure looks like a lot of fun - kind of like climbing a wall … oh yeah, it is a wall! I’ve had a lot of experience going around neighborhoods finding bird food and nuts so I was up to the top in 10 seconds!
Sure glad to see this formation next to the river. I am very familiar with how these rocks are stacked as I often use them to catch a few rays of sun with my family. There were three layers but because they were all pretty flat I managed to get to the top in 18.73 seconds!
I kept getting stuck in those deep crevasses. These rocks were right along the river and the erosion caused all these odd shapes and ledges. I really tried hard but despite my superior called feet I just couldn’t get a grip. I finally called for help by Amelia , which the judge determined was a disqualification. Maybe I’ll do better in the track and field events...
