Ski Jumping- MN edition
Stuffie friends!
We finally got out on the slopes again today to compete. The ski jumping was a challenge, since the snow all melted in the sunny spots. We improvised by putting roller skates on the bottom of the skis. It was super fast and pretty scary, so we’re just going to show you us at the top and the bottom of the hill.
They have a cool warming house patio- just right to warm your cold… well, you know. We are thinking about joining the Itasca jump team to tune of for future events and to get a few lessons on real snow!
Ski jump. Sure is high and took us a long time to walk to the top (actually Amelia just flew!)
Amelia here. Sure is windy today so I better watch out. Also, my boots feel a little loose. Hope this goes okay! On the other hand, I am a bird and a terrific flyer. If it seems I might crash, I’ll just take to the skies. Not sure how that will work out when I’m wearing skis, but here’s hoping I won’t have to find out.
Whew! I made it to the finish. Notice how i was even able to get in the tuck position. I just flew down the jump. I have to say, I did much better than Scottie! Helps to be a bird. And, man, that squirrel does NOT give up. I was really impressed by him.
I got off to a great start. It took me a few tries and I definitely fell and tipped over a bunch. Finally made it down without falling off the side. Here’s me with a big smile! I have to say, ski jumping is something I’ll have to practice... I’m much better at moguls and downhill. It must be due to my long legs that help me maneuver and take more of the moguls, increasing my speed substantially. Whee! Now that’s fun!
We are definitely joining this club. It is only a couple fo miles away and will be a great way to spend the LONG winters up here in Minnesota. Think we can convince them to put us on the sign instead?
