New Friends Are Put to Work
Stuffie Friends! Hello, it’s Scottie, Amelia, Ferdinand, Salsa, and Gràineag (Little Hedgie). I’m glad to report that we had a very successful trip out to Oregon. We heard our landlords talking about heading out to the Coast for a major work project. They definitely needed a building expert & construction overseer, so I volunteered my services. Amelia & I thought it would be a great chance for our new friends to see more of the country.
FIrst, I had to hand out jobs and make sure everyone had a way to use their talents. Gràineag was really fast at digging holes! Ferdinand couldn’t believe how quickly this deep hole appeared!
Amelia Airheart offered to fly Gràineag out of the hole if needed, but it was no problem. (Also, Amelia is really good with a sledgehammer. Must be nice to be able to fly!
Ferdinand used his strength to move a lot of dirt around. He did get a little distracted by some flowers he could smell. He also spent more time napping than I would prefer on the job site. We’ll work on it!
Salsa Flambee strength-tested all the beams and made sure they were level. They also offered to find out if the fence was fire-proof but we said “NO! Please don’t!” We did let them lightly heat the boards to dry them out from the rain that happened.
Because we did such a terrific job on the fence, we got to do a special visit to the Lincoln City Cultural Center. We got there just in time- they were about to close to repave their parking lots. Don’t worry! They reopen tomorrow, November 8th. Congrats, everyone!
Can you find us near these sculptures? We are pretty well disguised. And we were very careful to not stand on any of the artwork. We just tucked into the empty spaces nearby. By the way, can believe this amazing exhibit about coral reefs? Everything is made from fiber & most of it is crocheted… wild!
We went down the hall to the Cheesman Gallery to see this exhibit of art reclaimed from other people’s garbage. It mostly has washed up onto the beaches. We were most impressed by the talented artists.
And look at how much we resemble these pieces of art. For example, look at me!
and here’s Ferdinand… What a doppelganger!
Hope you’re having some wonderful adventures of your own! Talk to you soon.
