Trains, Tenors, and Tacos
Hello, friends! It’s Amelia Airheart, reporting to you from a train. I know what you’re thinking. Yes, it would seem that a bird who has the talents to run an airline could just fly all the friends directly to Wales from the island. And, yes, I could have done it, for sure, for sure. However, it’s this bird’s vacation, too! Trains are fascinating and have been used since 700 BC. These modern trains go much faster than the earlier models, to be sure.
Gràineag (our new hedgehog friend) tried to warn us that trains take a long time. We didn’t believe them until we passed through sunshine, rain, wind, sunshine…. town after town went by.
We did get to do a stop in Wrexham, home of the famous football (soccer) club. We could see the stadium from the station, but no one was there at the time.
There were 20+ mens’ choirs that gathered to perform a concert in St. David’s Hall in Cardiff. Wow, was that music incredible! Scottie said the bagpipers were better. Agree to disagree. Each friend has their own preferences.
The next day, we were traveling around Cardiff and I spied this friend hanging around outside a castle. We asked if she wanted to come with us and she couldn’t fly fast enough to join us. We’re working to translate her speech, since she talks extremely fast and mostly in Welsh. We’ve gathered that she’s very excited about most everything.
Salsa is super funny. And, she’s a terrific tour guide. She showed us everywhere around town. We appreciated the snack stops the most. We cannot wait to introduce Salsa to Taco- they have a lot in common. And, we’re a little worried about Fajita’s questions and Salsa’s energy. We’ll see how it goes.
Then it was off to England because I’d heard great things about this town called “Bath”. Loonie and I adore a place to bathe and splash around.
Well, that water looks… not very appetizing. Why did people travel from all over to “relax” in pea soup? Is that really how this town became famous? We decided there must be a better place to get wet. We didn’t have to travel far to find a river.
Aah. Now, this is the life. We’re off to have a wonderful time. Talk to you soon!
