Johnny Whoop Looks for a Business Opportunity

Hello, everybody! It’s me, Johnny Whoop! I’m so excited to be included in this storytelling event! In case you don’t know, I’m the adorable little bear on the left. I’m here with my friends Fajita (kangaroo) and Taco (dragon). They’ve recently created a successful taco business (now also selling fajitas) and have picked me up to take me on vacation. Whoo Hooo!

First stop on our vacation- harvesting tomatoes! They smell very tasty. And there were LOTS of them to be picked. We spent most of the day gathering tomatoes. Taco said it takes many, many tomatoes to make salsa. And, that wasn’t the only thing we needed to pick. Next we had to gather peppers.

Then we had to prune and water tomato plants. I don’t remember vacation being so exhausting! This really feels like work. If I’m going to do all of this, I should get paid.

It was that realization that made me put my foot down. (Well, my feet don’t really move, but you get the idea.) I told my friends that I wanted to start my own company. They were very excited about the idea and enthusiastic about helping me. They said we could get rich quick with the right idea. So, we started searching for things I could sell.

TIny jams for Stuffies and small friends? Maybe! They sure are cute. But so are fairy houses…. and they say fortunes can be made in real estate.

Probably a little tricky to find the fairies and get them to pay real money for things. Maybe bird houses? Are there any birds around here?

Yup. Must be birds. We asked some of them and it turns out they are VERY particular about the shape, size, and location of their houses. It makes sense- if you’re going to raise baby birds in a nest, you want them to have the best of everything. And hopefully not get eaten.

Ooh. That’s a good idea- food for birds!

Umm. Looks like if I get into selling bird feeders I’m going to spend too much time finding food to refill them. Those beaks can chow down! Maybe squirrels will be easier to feed. They just like nuts and cones of trees. We can gather those up easily. See? Fajita already found a sitka cone!

Hmm. Turns out it took us a lot of time to search and pile up our cones. We count 7 right now. Does anyone have a business idea for me? Let me know. I’m sure there’s a way to get rich without working too hard. Thanks in advance for your ideas!
