Art (?) Fair in Ohio

Heya, hiya, hello there! It’s Salsa reporting to you live from Ohio. Amelia Airheart took us on a flight to check out the Worthington Art Fair. When we arrived, we were glad to see they had fire trucks at the ready. You can never be too cautious when there are dragons eating tacos.

Loonie rushed us right over to this location in search of water. You would think toads= wet places= water. And, sadly, you would be wrong. Nothing but mud and grass and pavement around here. Scottie had the perfect distraction, however.

You know Scottie- always distracted by snacks. There were many delicious treats to choose from. Wouldn’t you know it? We headed straight for the sweets.

You know what apple butter and homemade fudge and caramel sauce taste great on? Yes! You guessed it… fancy pancakes!

erdinand wanted something a little more nutritious. It wasn’t hard to find options around this fair, that’s for sure.

And, for those of us who prefer a little spicier menu…

Now, that place had a huge menu. Of course it did! With a name like “TacMania” of course it had lots of wonderful and delicious salsas. They thought I was super cute and asked if I’d be there mascot. I said, “no thanks!” (I’m too busy being on vacation.) Just as we’d all finished our meals, this truck rolled in.

We met this guy, Reuben, who was incredibly nice. Guess you’d have to be in order to let kids put their painted hands all over your snowplow. It does look pretty cool. We asked about adding ours to the mix, but there was concern we’d never get the paint off our fur and feathers. Anyway, we got to talking with Reuben & it turns out he has quite the collection of Stuffies at his house. We exchanged info. Maybe we’ll keep in touch?

You know who else we’d like to keep in touch with? These cuties…

These adorable new friends were in the art section of the fair. The person who made these started the day with 90 Stuffies. And these were the only ones left by 1:00 pm… We know why they’re popular!

LIttle Hedgie, Ferdinand and I were very lucky to be there for Don’s famous homemade chili. I was so grateful it was spicy. They were… a little less grateful.

We had one more stop before leaving Ohio. Our landlord, Dan, took us to the place where he grew up. It’s a famous spot in Fremont (for a small crowd). The house smaller than we thought it would be…. maybe it’s bigger in his imagination. We did hear there used to be a huge stuffed snake that lived there. Thank goodness we didn’t have to meet that friend. Yikes!

Well, we’re off to enjoy the fall leaves. What fun to romp in a pile like this! Hope you find something to celebrate autumn. Talk to you soon!
