Whitewater Canoeing Event

Stuffie friends - we went all out on our whitewater canoe event. Since we live near the headwaters of the Mississippi, we decided to canoe from the headwaters to the big dam in Grand Rapids. For safety reasons, we thought the best plan was for both of us to paddle our big voyageur canoe. Beautiful fall colors didn’t distract our concentration because there are  many dangerous rapids on the river.

We were successful and made it in record time of 2 hours and 17 minutes! When we got back, we heard a story from our landlord where many years ago he tried to canoe over the headwaters! Why he would want to do that is beyond us. We started right below- the current was very swift and the channel narrow. We hope your canoe routes are as exciting. Best of luck out there!
