New Friends Looking for Fall Colors... and Adventure

Thank goodness Scottie was here to greet me! The airport was closed and I was exhausted from my flight. The Inland Water route from PEI to Duluth is over 3700 km (2300 miles to you.) Most Canadians (or Canadiens) can’t travel to the U.S. right now. Luckily for me, birds know no boundaries. Besides, once my airline succeeds, they’ll be begging me to stay. After lots of rest and plenty of fresh corn on the cob….so delicious… I’m ready to jet. Scottie said his bike ride today was fun and that car trips are even faster.

Like I told Amelia, I got to go on a bike ride to see the beautiful leaves. Those leaves sure look different from the handle bars when you’re speeding by! Glad I was strapped in well with the bungy strap as I learned my home owner had a pretty nasty accident a few weeks ago. I also spotted two new signs hanging on a large oak and red pine trees. We sped by too fast for me to read them. I’d better find a newspaper to learn more about what is going on. I know my squirrel friends aren’t responsible for putting them there. (We don’t advertise.)

The neighborhood trees were so beautiful that Amelia & I decided to go on a road trip to find more fall colors. It was almost a really short trip. Remember Stella the dog? Well, she has nothing on Mayo. Let’s just say this puppy was desperate to make some new friends. Don’t worry- we escaped in time. It’s lucky that Amelia can fly! The pig was much nicer to us, and very polite. Hardly said a thing. And then we had a grand time down at the lake and looking at all sights here in Twig. What a funny name for a town! Wonder if squirrels founded it? We got home in time for dinner and pie. That’s my kind of trip!
