Fun* at the Family Camp Carnival
Now that is what I’m talking about! Games, prizes, and the chance to be famous for being the absolute best as something. Yetis are spectacular when it comes to competition. We’re fast, we’re smart, we’re good at finding loopholes. This is gonna be great!
I was super excited to have the Art staff do caricatures of us. Beautiful artwork emphasizing our cutest qualities for all the world to see? Yes, please! Unfortunately, it would have required waiting in line forever. (Popular activity and all). So, we’ll have to save that for another time. If you know some portrait painters who’d be interested in capturing us for all eternity, please let us know.
This game was a lot of fun. The humans had to stand far away behind a line and throw small balls to hit the cans. We got to get right up close. We just jumped off the sides and knocked them right down. BOOM! That sure was satisfying.
We noticed the line had finally gone down for face painting. We beelined it over there to get a little snazzier. Thanks to these fantastic Art staff for their painting skills!
Then it was time to head outside for more games. You had to use only 5 CD’s to cover up all the red part of the board. It took all of us and some serious concentration, but we did it! (See, Katie, we can use team work when we want to.)
And this is where things went sour for us. Okay, I’ll admit it, just for me. I asked what we got for winning the game. And do you know what they said to us? “The joy of knowing you did it!” WHAT?!!! You’ve got to be kidding me! Then why are we wasting all this blood, sweat and tears? (Okay, we don’t have any of those things, but still.) We’re out of here!
Okay, we’re not out of here. There must be some money to be made as carnival supervisors. (In case you’re wondering, no, we did not get paid for that job, either!) Sometimes supervising was a little trickier than we expected. I don’t want to tell you what happened next to Fajita. We’ll just say there’s a reason the rollercoaster game didn’t make this highlight video.
And then we found the best activity of all- Dunk tank!!! It was difficult to persuade the staff to give us a turn. It’s one of their favorite booths to work, so it must be fun. We promised some bribes (see, two can play at this “promise things and then not pay out” game) and then we were in! We’ll let this video tell the rest of the story.
Ummm… That did not go the way we wanted it to go. We did get a bonus ride in the dryer, which is always a good time. By the time we got back over to the Carnival, it was dark outside. Luckily, they were still having a party.
And this was SO much fun. Our time on the trampolines of the West helped us out for sure. We were disappointed that it was so dark out that you couldn’t get a video of our talents in the Bounce House. Suffice it to say, if there were a 2021 Games happening this month, we’d dominate the podium.
