Art for Art's Sake
Oh, yeah! Scottie- are you seeing what I’m seeing? Check out this squirrel! It is amazingly talented and can reach for the stars... or at least the ceilings. Not sure what’s involved with the job of being the “Art Squirrel” but we’re sure you can handle it! (I asked about the pay and the Art staff wouldn’t tell me. Pretty sure that means you do the job free. I’m definitely not interested.)
Fajita loved this little glass house. They might be planning to move in. Taco & I had fun jumping up and down on the roof. I couldn’t find any stones for Fajita to throw, so they should be safe. I especially liked the decorations on this- the more paint in the world, the better!
Can you believe the nerve? Fajita has 2 houses perfect for them. Taco has a cozy little wooden house. Bur are there special artsy houses for Yeti? No, there are not! And some people say that I’m a complainer. Really I just speak out about injustice and ask for what I want. You know what I want? A little house just for me! I have a few requests for the builder: 3 Yeti-sized stories, one for the jacuzzi, one for the bank vault filled with gold & jewels, and one for the most comfy bed in the whole wide world. Let me know when it’s ready & I’ll move right in.
You may not be able to tell from this angle, but this wild looking creature is a Great Blue Heron puppet. Its wings even fly! Well, that’s what we were told, anyway. There was a cord to pull and everything but Katie wouldn’t let us touch it. She said that it was someone else’s artwork & we might break it. As if! I am Yeti the magnificent! I can do no wrong!
Full disclosure- this is me in “Time Out”. Apparently when you “accidentally” tip over a giant jug of glue in the entrance to Art & then fling a container of glitter up in the air to see what happens, you are not welcome to “help” clean it up. Taco & Fajita were very understanding of my foul mood and kept me company until the path was clear to go back into the Art shack. Unfortunately, they’d locked the door to the supply room. (A formal protest will be submitted to the governing bodies of the Art world following this post. )
Taco is interested in learning to be an electrician. He was trying to figure out why these lights weren’t on. He carefully checked every bulb in this sculpture and came up with no answers. I didn’t have the heart to point out to him that the plug was hanging down from the ceiling instead of being plugged into the wall…
Wow! Look at all of these origami cranes! We heard that they learned about the history and culture of origami and then made a bunch of different projects like these. I was very excited to make a giant crane or butterfly to use as a ride out of here. Yet another disappointment- it’s extremely difficult to do origami when you have soft, squishy paws. Maybe this is a job that can get outsourced… Katie, what are you up to?
I really liked this outer space floating sculpture. It reminded me of my good friend Piggy and her rocket ship. Maybe she’s free to take me on a voyage to outer space? I’m going to see what I can do…
