Froggy Has a Narrow Escape

So, here’s what happened. We all went to the beach to celebrate before ending our super-super-duper fun visit to the Oregon Coast. My friend RoaRRRy wanted to spend the day at the beach. Great! I wanted to spend time by the water (of course). Freshwater. Lots more flies that way. And RoaRRRy agreed that we should make time for my choice, too. We stopped on the way home for a look at Cummins Creek.

And everyone was more than up for a trip to see the creek up close and personal. So we crossed the road and found this super cool bridge with a great view of the water. Beautiful spot, beautiful afternoon.

But, you know me- I’m always up for adventure. And I was hoping to get a little closer to see what the action was. So, I did used my awesome tree climbing skills to get up on the railing. Perfect, right?

I may have bitten off more than I could chew. Wait- what does that even mean? I have some little teeth in the top of my mouth, but that’s only for when I need to hold something until I can swallow it. Mostly my tongue does all the work. You know, zing (tongue goes out), zap (catch the bug), slurp (into mouth), gulp (down it goes), yum (happy tummy). Anyway, in this case it means… well, you’ll see what it means.

That hand you see is Katie’s. Good thing she was paying attention and has such quick reflexes when it comes to catching stuffies. Here’s what would have happened otherwise…

You’ll have to imagine the splash. I’ll just tell you- it was a long way down! And there were some big fish in there. Probably goodbye Froggy. Everyone panicked, but just a little. Then there were lots of cries of “Froggy! Are you okay?” (RoaRRRy) and “I wanted to see your dive!” (Yeti) and “I would have saved you!” (Taco) and “Thank goodness. I would have been in so much trouble if I lost Froggy.” (Katie)

Well, it sure has been fun vacationing on the Oregon Coast. Also, I’m super happy to be on my way back to Minnesota safely. Can’t wait to catch up with all my other stuffie friends there and check out the local tree climbing scene. (Oh, that might have to wait until Winter is over.)
